Open House Tasting Tonight from 5:30 - 7:00 pm | Free
Can't afford Bordeaux? Worry not. When times are tough, the tough get tougher and the Bordeaux trade turns to the cedary, barrel-aged Tempranillos of Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Among the new Ordonez wines Robert Houde will be pouring tonight, are two especially convincing (and affordable) examples of Tempranillo with a really sexy French accent:
Emilio Moro Finca Resalso Ribera del Duero 2007 @ $13.95
From Moro's younger vines (5 to 15 years old). Four months in French oak. Spicy mulled cherry with meaty cedar and herbal notes. Very high complexity to price ratio.
Volver La Mancha Tempranillo 2007 @ $16.95
We sold quite a bit of the 2005 Volver. Skipped a year. It's back and better than ever. Saturated, oaky, winey, dusty tannin, black currant, coffee bean, chocolate, cherry. Very, very good. Bring on the grilled the hanger steak.
You can try 'em out for yourself tonight along with a bunch of other Spanish treats from the Ordonez catalog. Read More:>>
